A study says, mobile phones old model – who still use the 2G network – has a better capability when used to call rather than a smartphone that has a capacity of 3G. Latest generation of mobile phones such as Apple’s iPhone or Samsung S2 Galaxy, does offer advanced 3G technology that allows access to high-speed networks, email and internet.
Unfortunately, based on research conducted in the UK communications regulator Ofcom, the performance of advanced mobile phones is not so good when used on the phone, especially in rural areas. It turned out to matter-halo this old school phone is still superior.
The reason, as reported by the Telegraph and quoted on Friday August 12, old school phone or commonly referred to as feature phones, allowing more internal space for the antenna. “This is possibly due to reduced complexity of the antenna on a mobile phone. And this phone has no problem in terms of switching between 2G to 3G networks,” Ofcom wrote in his report.
